May is National Military Appreciation Month, an opportunity to salute our nation’s military branches and continue to honor those who have served over the many years. In that spirit, this month we recognized our fellow West Monroe team members who have been in the Armed Forces.

Bill served as an Officer in the U.S. Army Reserve from 2004 to 2014 with the 311th Signal Command in the Pacific Theater. His primary occupation specialty was as a Signal Communications and Cyber Officer where he served as a battle captain and aide-de-camp supervising information and mission data flow for the Pacific Region.

Tim was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corp in August of 1992 after serving four years’ active duty as a Corporal and gun section chief on the M198 howitzer artillery crew. After conducting several deployments in the Mediterranean and in Desert Storm he returned to Seattle to finish his degree in Marketing and Management at the University of Washington.

Ross is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy where he got his Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. In total, Ross served six years active duty. Ross served on the U.S.S. Mitscher where he led a division of sailors as the Weapons and Anti-Terrorism Division Lead. He also served on the U.S.S. George Bush as the Weapons Department Leader in Norfolk, Virginia. In these roles, Ross was responsible for the safe execution of operations for a $6.2 billion nuclear supercarrier. Ross also served as the Legal and Ethics Department Director for the Naval Submarine School. Ross is currently the Chief Veterans Officer for West Monroe’s Seattle office.

Jordan served five years’ active duty in the Marine Corps from 2005 – 2010, on a special duty assignment with the Department of State running diplomatic security out of US Embassies abroad and primarily to protect Embassy personnel, classified information and government property. He served for several years overseas in Turkey, Tajikistan, Philippines, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Aside from security related duties, he was very active with charity organizations in each country and was the lead Marine Corps representative to foster relations through social events. He had the pleasure of providing security and also acting as a diplomat in the host countries he served.

Steve served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps from 2004 to 2010 with 1st Battalion 14th Marine Regiment and Echo Company 4th Reconnaissance Battalion. His primary occupational specialty was as a field radio operator and also served in Anbar Province, Iraq as a machine gunner and SAW gunner where his company was responsible for force protection and served as a quick reaction force.

Sam was honorably discharged from the United States Navy in October 2011, after serving five years’ active duty as a submarine officer and civil engineering corps officer. Sam served aboard US fast attack submarines, the USS Miami and USS San Francisco. He also served in Kandahar, Afghanistan with the 25 Naval Construction Regiment.
