The Best of Both Worlds

When someone accepts an offer to join West Monroe Partners, we use the phrase “Challenge Accepted”. Not because we plan to work them mercilessly, but because the expectations at West Monroe are different.  We do impactful work and solve our clients’ biggest problems. At the same time, as an employee owned company, our people are expected to take ownership of their careers as well as the culture and environment of our office. We are expected to contribute to the strategy of our office and respective service lines. We are expected to make our community better through volunteering. We are expected to hire and foster the growth of the best people. We are expected to express our personalities (it’s OK if you like Nickelback, really it is).

My personal experience with West Monroe Partners started with an introduction to our office lead, who invited me into the office for a casual discussion. We talked shop a bit to gauge mutual interest and one of the things we discussed was the importance of cultural fit. It’s something West Monroe Partners takes seriously and it can be summed up this way: all companies have values, but not all companies have culture. Since joining West Monroe, I’ve been able to learn new skills, solve new problems with our clients, participate in the recruiting and interview process, serve as a career advisor to new hires, write blogs, contribute to our engagement methodology, and develop a process for onboarding our newest colleagues to help guide their transition into our office. At West Monroe, if we see a problem, we are empowered to solve it. As owners, it’s up to us to make it a better place, and we rise to the challenge.

West Monroe is not a place where you come to hide in a cubicle for 40 hours a week. It’s a place you come to thrive. Our Minneapolis office brings the scale and experience of a big firm with the personality of a small firm. We have the opportunity to work on a diverse set of client problems, but also have the opportunity to make a difference and expand our horizons within our office and community. It is the best of both worlds in the consulting business and it is what convinced me to join West Monroe Partners.
