I attended last month’s IIE annual conference in Orlando. It was a great opportunity to learn, educate others, and network with students and peers. I had the opportunity to see what professionals and academia were doing in the labor management field as well as other Industrial Engineering areas of study. I was able to see where new technology is being introduced into our discipline as well as educate others on our discrete labor standards software (FLEXdls) with Jeremy Tancredi. We had the opportunity to present the limitations of other software packages and the opportunities of FLEXdls as an engineering tool to a room of students and professionals. Attending sessions for verified applications of IE methods as well as presentations for current research from institutions in many different industries was a great chance to see where our IE services could help many other businesses. Jeremy and I are already brainstorming what we should present next year to demonstrate our expertise in the workforce optimization field!
