As a business and technology consulting firm, our day-to-day jobs revolve around helping companies transform their operations to better serve their customers and achieve higher levels of success; so we decided that a great way to give back to our Seattle community would be to do what we know best.
Through strategy definition, employee and member research and financial modeling, West Monroe offered the YMCA a slate of new service pricing options and recommendations to help the organization better understand and target its members and allow the organization to achieve the following goals:
In addition, the Y viewed their current pricing structure as too complicated for participants and employees and sought a simplified more cohesive pricing strategy that aligned with the organizations’ overall objectives.
West Monroe worked closely with the two Y business sponsors and collaborated to create an advisory pricing board that included representation across a number of the Y’s functional areas. Through our analysis and development of the pricing options, the organization was able to challenge some long-standing assumptions and consider the introduction of ideas and creative solutions gleaned from our prior work. The outcome of the effort resulted in consensus among the various stakeholders and identification of action-ready steps that the Y can take immediately as well as in the longer-term as they refine their pricing approach to more closely support their organizational objectives. The West Monroe team found it very rewarding to apply our business expertise and strategy skills in working with the Y as part of our commitment to social and environmental responsibility in support of our local communities.
